Lucknow: Rajya Sabha MP Mohammad Adeeb dared the government to present the Central Madarsa Bill in parliament. Adeeb was addressing the Jalsa-e-aam function of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) at Aishbagh eidgaah grounds in the state capital on Sunday. The function was organised as part of the three day 21st annual convention of the AIMPLB.
“We have thwarted government’s move to present the madarsa bill in parliament and will oppose any such move in future also. We cannot allow any interference in our internal matters such as shariah,” he said. Adeeb, a Rajya Sabha member from UP is also a member of the AIMPLB besides running his own organisation-All India Muslim Co-ordination Board.
The function which witnessed good attendance from muslim community was also attended by shia clerics Maulana Kalbe Sadiq and Maulana Kalbe Jawwad besides President, AIMPLB, Maulana Rabey Hasan Nadwi.
The ulemas urged the muslims to remain united and committed towards shariah. “We should provide strength to board so that any interference in Islamic shariah is thwarted. We should adhere to our traditions and practice it in our daily routine,” said Maulana Idrees Bastawi.
Organising secretary Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli highlighted the role of ulemas for keeping alive the Islamic laws. He urged the Muslims to remain united and adhere to the religion.
The function was addressed by hordes of muslim clerics including Maulana Wali Rahmani, Maulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi, Maulana Ateequr Rehman to name a few.
