Gurgaon: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly molested and manhandled by a bar owner in a shopping mall here Saturday night, police said Monday.
“We have received a complaint from the woman who had gone to the Addiction bar. On the basis of the complaint, we have registered a case and investigation is on,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Sumit Kumar said.
A case under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered at the DLF Phase-II police station.
According to the pub owner he was not at fault as the woman was drunk. “The woman, a resident of Greater Kailash of Delhi was already drunk when she reached the bar. She later went to police and registered a complaint. I have provided CCTV footages to police,” said Gurdeep Singh, owner of the bar.
