The met department said the temperatures would remain on the higher side for a few days.

“The minimum temperature Wednesday morning was 3 to 8 degrees above average across the state. This means even the day’s temperature is also expected to hover 5 to 10 degrees above average,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office, told IANS.

He said Shimla’s minimum temperature was 15.3 degrees Celsius Wednesday, 7 degrees above average for this time of the year.

The state capital Tuesday recorded the season’s highest at 25.8 degrees Celsius, making it the warmest March Shimla has seen since 2004.

Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti still cut off from the rest of the country due to heavy snow, also saw a rise in temperature.

“Keylong recorded a low of 2.8 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees above the average,” the Met official said.

According to him, the state will witness sunny days and the temperatures will remain more or less the same over the next few days.
