Bhopal : Opposition Congress today boycotted the special session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly which was called by the government to discuss development in the state, saying the procedure adopted was “unconstitutional”.
Congress legislators, led by Deputy Leader of Congress Legislature Party Choudhry Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi, walked into the Assembly premises in a procession.
They staged a sit-in on the Assembly stairs where slogans were raised against the BJP government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
BSP members too boycotted the special session by staging a separate sit-in in front of the entry gate of the Assembly.
Senior Congress MLA Ajay Singh told reporters that they had boycotted the session as it was “unconstitutional”.
