“I am ready for any probe right from my ministry to the level of district collector provided such a probe get to the root of the issue. It is a universal truth that action will be taken against anyone found guilty,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Development Conference which began here Monday.

Raja was reacting to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement that action would be initiated against anyone found guilty in the 2G spectrum scam.

Denying any irregularities, Raja said all 2G spectrum allocations were made in accordance with the rules framed by the government and claimed that he was being targeted as he broke the cartel in the sector.

“We strictly went by those rules and recommendations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI),” he said.

Raja said the union finance ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office were looking into TRAI recommendations on 2G spectrum allocation.

“I don’t know how many times I have to answer the same questions and make things clear,” said Raja, visibly annoyed over the media queries.

Asked if he was happy over the clean chit given to him by the Prime Minister, he said: “I am always happy”.
