Bangalore: No sooner did the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow special bench deliver its verdict over Ayodhya dispute on 30th September than Muslim community expressed dissatisfaction and several Muslim organizations decided to move Apex Court against the verdict. Now Popular Front of India (PFI) has decided to file petition in Supreme Court challenging the verdict. The organization has constituted a Legal Monitoring Cell of law experts for the purpose.
The decision was taken at PFI National Executive Council meeting held at Bangalore on 30th and 31st October 2010.The meeting observed that the verdict of the Allahabad High Court is unjust, prejudiced and extra-legal and in a sense validates the attacks and communal propaganda of Hindutva outfits.
“The demolition of Babri Masjid was one of the most heinous attacks on the secular fabric of the nation and the whole country was expecting justice for the Babri Masjid. But still justice is in waiting. As PFI has been in the forefront of the struggle for justice in the Babri Masjid case, it will move Supreme Court for justice” reads release issued after the meeting.
The meeting which was attended by PFI officials from different parts of the country also decided that a massive campaign will be launched during December 2010 and January 2011 for creating awareness among the community about the Babri Masjid.
