Kolkata: The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C), the first IIM in the country, is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee Nov 14.
“The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, the first institute in the IIM system will enter the 50th year of its journey on November 14, 2010. IIM-Calcutta being the first institution in the IIM system, Nov 14, 2010 also marks the golden jubilee of the IIM system. We plan to celebrate the golden jubilee of the institute and IIM system over a period of two years during Nov 14, 2010-Nov 14, 2012,” said a press statement issued by the institute.
The celebration of the golden jubilee at IIM-Calcutta will begin with a three-day event (Nov 14-16, 2010), it added.
This will include a two-day convention on “Management Education in India” from Nov 14 where directors of all the IIMs and renowned management schools in India and the world, noted academicians and industry leaders, IIM-Calcutta professors and alumni would deliberate on significant issues and challenges facing the management schools in India and the way forward.
