New Delhi: Indian Federation of Sports Medicine president P.S.M Chandran has been nominated by the Asian Hockey Federation to be the tournament doctor for the hockey competition at the Guangzhou Asian Games.
Chandran, who is in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) panel of medical officers, has the distinction of supervising the medical cover for over 200 international hockey matches in the past at the Asian Games, Asia Cup, Champions Trophy and Junior World Cup.
The men’s and women’s hockey competitions of the Asian Games are scheduled Nov 13-25 and the winners will automatically qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
