Lucknow: In the melee at Shia PG College with Maulana Kalbe Jawwad taking to roads on Sunday, the board of trustees of the college claimed that the annual meeting was held as per schedule in the college campus.
“The meeting was attended by 39 of 69 members while three posts are vacant. The meeting was held and the protest by Maulana Jawwad failed to evoke any response,” claimed Honorary Secretary, S Akhter Hasan Rizvi. He claimed that Maulana Kazim Zaheer, Maulana Kalbe Jawwad and Maulana Agha Roohi arrived at the college campus but an alert police administration foiled their attempts. “These people have earlier approached the High Court and later district administration but their prayers were turned down due to lack of facts, they are bent upon handing over the college to receiver,” said Rizvi.
As per Rizvi, a resolution condemning their act was also passed at the meeting on Sunday. The routine business as financial matters, budget and election on post of vacant seats were also conducted during the meeting. “Even an observer from Lucknow University (LU) had attended
the meeting and passed the proceedings as genuine,” said Rizvi.
