Raipur : A week after two security personnel went missing in a Maoist stronghold in Chhattisgarh, their families Monday appealed to the government to step up efforts to trace them.
Khemchand Sahu and Jitendra Patel, who went missing Nov 8, were in a 90-member contingent drawn from the District Force and Special Police Officers assigned for duty in the Maoist-dominated Erka forest of Narayanpur district.
“We have some clues about the location of the missing men in a forested area and are hoping to make a breakthrough soon,” a senior police officer based at the police headquarters here told IANS.
Worried about their fate, their families have been camping in Narayanpur town, headquarters of Narayanpur district, and have appealed the state government to step up the efforts to locate them.
