New Delhi : The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day Monday without transacting any business, making it the fourth day of the winter session to be called off without conducting any business.
After its first adjournment which took place as soon as the house met, it was again called off after it reassembled at 12 noon.
The scene was no different than in the morning, with opposition parties noisily demanding a joint parliamentary committee to probe the alleged issues of corruption involving members of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
Amidst the din, Deputy Chairman K. Rahaman Khan adjourned the house for the day within five minutes after it met a second time.
The winter session of parliament started Nov 9.
