New Delhi : The Delhi Police Friday inducted three Light Armoured Troop Carriers to further toughen security measures in the capital for the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games.
Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal said: “This will be the last resort in case of a terrorist attack in the capital during the Games.”
These bulletproof vehicles, with seating capacity for 11 security personnel, can easily withstand high impact explosives.
“The vehicles will be operated by commandos of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit of the Delhi Police,” Dadwal added.
According to him, the vehicles would prevent any 26/11 like situation as the vehicles can approach the target from near and attack.
