The councillors led by Delhi Mayor Prithvi Raj Sawhney hit at the organisers of the Games for ignoring them despite the civic agency shouldering a bulk of the responsibility for preparing the city for the mega-sporting event.

The civic agency also passed a resolution at a meeting of its standing committee – the highest decision-making body – condemning the “non-acknowledgment” of the corporation’s contribution in the organisation of the Games.

The delegation blamed Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for not acknowledging the contribution of the corporation.

A delegation led by Sawhney with other BJP leaders in MCD informed Reddy that the organising committee and Delhi government has done injustice by neglecting the contribution of the MCD.

The delegation also accused Dikshit of taking all the credit of the work completed at the Games village.
