Key Delhi Metro stations to remain open Thursday

New Delhi : The Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat Metro stations, scheduled to remain closed for few hours Thursday morning for the Commonwealth Games marathon, will now remain open from 6 a.m., a Delhi Metro spokesperson Wednesday said.

Commuter services at these Metro stations were earlier suspended from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the event to be held Thursday.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson said: “All entry gates of the Rajiv Chowk Metro station will remain open as per normal timings based on the fresh instructions issued by the Delhi Police.”

The spokesperson also said that the Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat Metro stations were scheduled to remain closed Oct 14 from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. and at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station, only “A” and “B” block entry/exit gates (gate Nos. 1,2,7 and 8) were to remain open for the public.”

The Commonwealth Games that began Oct 3 will end Thursday.
