New Delhi : Suzlon Energy Friday said it has bagged orders for developing 168.5 MW wind turbine capacity from various corporate, small and medium enterprises (SME) and private sector undertakings (PSU) in the country.
“Our India business is roaring ahead. The diversification of the sector from PSUs and captive consumers sets a solid foundation for our industry,” said Tulsi R. Tanti, chairman and managing director.
The biggest order of 33 MW came from Gujarat State Fertilizer and Chemicals (GSFC). This is the fourth repeat order to Suzlon from the company, which, upon completion, will increase the GSFC’s wind power portfolio to 77 MW, the company said in a regulatory filing.
An arm of KSK energy ventures, Sai Regency Power has placed the second biggest order of 18.9 MW for a power project in Tamil Nadu. Kolkata-based Narbheram Vishramwhich has placed a repeat order of 15 MW for a project in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
Gujarat’s Friends Group has also placed an order of 12.6 MW for a project to be set up in Rajasthan.
The company has received two more repeat orders– 10.5 MW from G.N. Agrawal, a Goa-based iron-ore mining company for a power project to be set up in Maharastra and Rajasthan, and 7.5 MW from Ambuja Cement for a project to be set up in Gujarat.
The Gujarat Power Corporation Ltd. also has placed an order of 6 MW with the company for their first wind project in the state.
