Ranchi : The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India(Assocham) Friday submitted a development blueprint to Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda stressing the need for agro-based, mining and environmental policies, a statement by the industry lobby said.
Assocham secretary general D.S. Rawat and its Jharkhand council chairman Ravi Wig submitted the report.
There is huge investment potential in case of agro-based industries, opportunities exist in cattle feed; jute, hemp, sisal and other fabrics; tea cultivation, processing and packaging; paper; floriculture and horticulture, the statement said.
Assocham also urged the government to clear the bottlenecks of steel projects worth Rs.1,25,940 crore which could generate 1,64,000 jobs.
The statement said: “The delays are entirely due to state-level clearances — mainly environment clearances and land acquisition.”
