The CVC is one of the agencies probing alleged financial irregularities in Games-related projects completed by the MCD, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Public Works Department (PWD), among others.

CVC sources claimed that they have sent 10 fresh complaints to the MCD and four to the Delhi government, asking them to investigate the irregularities.

Denying this, MCD working committee chairman Jagdish Mamgain told IANS: “We have not received any fresh complaints from the CVC after the Commonwealth Games were over.”

“Before the Games, we received three complaints regarding officials tampering with the bid document relating to upgradation of street lights, covering of Sunehri and Kushak nullahs (drains) for constructing parking lots, and road underbridge at Prem Nagar railway crossing,” he added.

Mamgain said the report by the MCD on the three charges is ready and, as directed by the CVC, the corporation will submit its reports by October-end.

According to CVC sources, the commission has received 1,238 complaints this month, out of which 928 were sent to different state and central government-run departments for necessary action.

On 178 complaints, no action has been taken yet. The rest are under various stages of investigation.

But Mamgain said: “We have not received any fresh complaints by any probing agency till date. If we get any, we would thoroughly examine them and take action accordingly.”r
