The event initiated by the Chinese ministry of culture and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations featured more than 60 performances in 48 cities across China, Xinhua reported.

The Festival of India started April 7 in Beijing, while a China festival kicked off in India April 21 as part of the bilateral celebrations.

The festival helped Chinese people to understand India better, said S. Jaishankar, Indian ambassador to China, adding that India-China ties could become one of the world’s major economic relationships in the future.
