Beijing : China’s Shanghai city will have about 20,000 cars that run on renewable energy in the next two years, an official said.
Shanghai will have the eco-friendly cars by 2012, city’s Vice Mayor Ai Baojun told the Eighth China Automotive Industry Forum.
Shanghai Daily reported that the city will demonstrate the use of new-energy vehicles in Jiading district.
The country offers rewards of up to 60,000 yuan for those who buy electric cars and 50,000 yuan for those who buy plug-in hybrid cars.
