New Delhi : Delhiites woke up to a hot and humid morning Thursday with the weather office predicting rains as the day progresses.
“The sky will remain cloudy and parts of the city may witness rains or thundershowers towards the afternoon or evening,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The minimum temperature in the capital was recorded two notches above average at 26.5 degree Celsius. The maximum is expected to hover around 34 degree Celsius.
The maximum and minimum humidity oscillated between 94 percent and 65 percent.
The city received a total of 4mm of rain Wednesday as heavy downpour lashed many areas of north, central and south Delhi in the afternoon.
Delhi has recorded 702.6 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon, which is 34 percent above average. In August alone, the capital received 455.1 mm of rainfall – almost 101 percent above the average.
