Chandigarh : Power distribution agency Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has collected a record revenue of over Rs.800 crore in just two months of July and August.
The distributor has set targets for the bill collection staff and held awareness camps in villages.
DHBVN Managing Director Sudhir Rajpal said Thursday the revenue collection from bill payment of consumers was much higher than the collection of just Rs.650 crore in the corresponding months last year.
“The revenue collection during the month of August last has been highest Rs.166 crore in the operation circle Gurgaon followed by Rs.120 crore in Faridabad, Rs.51 crore in Hisar, Rs.29 crore in Narnaul, Rs.17 crore in Sirsa and Rs.16 crore in the operation circle Bhiwani,” Rajpal said.
He said that officials made all out efforts for collection of current bills and arrears by giving targets to staff. As a result, the collection efficiency increased considerably. The targets were reviewed on weekly basis by the top management.
Rajpal said that the consumers were persuaded to pay their bills in time by organizing camps in villages. They are also being educated during the ‘Bijli Baithaks’ (power meeting) held twice a week in each operation circle.
