The letters, circulated on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh BJP Bachao Sangharsh Samiti, were addressed to party’s national president Nitin Gadkari asking him to initiate action against the tainted leaders.

“Several BJP leaders are involved in misusing the party’s funds on parties and other things… the leaders also impose their decision on the party’s state president… action must be taken against such leaders involved in damaging the party’s image,” stated the letter.

The letter also carried signatures of party’s activists asking Gadkari to intervene at the earliest.

However, BJP spokesperson Satya Dev Singh claimed no such letter addressed to Gadkari was circulated during the party’s state executive meet.

“I have no idea… to the best of my knowledge, such letters were not circulated,” Singh told reporters here.

Asked whether the circulation of the letters will invite disciplinary action against the party activists behind it, he replied: “I will discuss the issue with Gadkari… As per his instructions, necessary action would be taken.”
