New Delhi : The cabinet has made “an appropriate recommendation” to the president based on the Jharkhand governor’s views on the political situation in the state, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said here Thursday.
Governor M.O.H. Farook Tuesday night sent a report to the home ministry, recommending that President’s Rule be lifted in Jharkhand.
His move came after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arjun Munda claimed the support of Shibu Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to form a new government.
Jharkhand has been under President’s Rule since June 2.
