The suggestion was made by party leader Rajnath Singh, who visited the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital to see the two Taiwanese nationals injured in Sunday’s shooting incident near the historic Jama Masjid here.

Ko Chang and Ku Ze Wei, both in their 20s, were shot in the head and stomach respectively when two unidentified gunmen fired at a tourist bus from which a group of visitors was alighting outside Gate 3 of the mosque.

“Rajnath Singh greeted them and wished them a speedy recovery,” said a BJP release, adding he also met the doctors who informed him both were out of danger and recovering well.

Condemning the shooting, Rajnath Singh said that terrorism is becoming an increasingly serious threat and it has become a challenge for all the citizens of the country.

“Keeping in view the upcoming Commonwealth Games, this challenge has become all the more serious,” the party’s release quoted him as saying.

“He has suggested that the central government should convene an all-party meeting to chalk out a strategy to tackle this aggravating problem confronting the country,” it added.
