Woman’s body in bag: Rs.50,000 for murderer’s clue

New Delhi : A reward of Rs.50,000 was announced Thursday by the Delhi Police for information on a man wanted for murdering his live-in partner and leaving her body stuffed in a bag at the New Delhi railway station.

The body was found Feb 10 and the victim was later identified as Neetu Solanki, 30, a law graduate and resident of Navada village in west Delhi.

She was identified after her father approached the police seeing the victim’s picture in the newspapers.

The main accused was identified as Raju Gehlot who is absconding.

“The reward is for Rs.50,000. It holds good for a period of one year with immediate effect for anyone who may give any information about the accused,” a senior police officer.

Gehlot’s involvement was revealed by his relative Naveen Shokeen, who allegedly helped him to hide after the murder.

Shokeen told police that Gehlot had murdered her live-in partner Solanki.

Gehlot holds a masters degree in tourism and was employed with the Air India, Shokeen said.
