Lal, who took 3-31 on that afternoon at Lord’s when India beat the mighty West Indies, said past victories will matter little in the final at Wankede.

“I think India have a very good chance to win the final against Sri Lanka Saturday. They have got everything to win the match,” Lal told IANS.

“Even though India have come through some tough matches (against Australia and Pakistan), the final is a completely different ball game. The real pressure is when you are in the semifinal and now that India have come through it, they should be comparatively relaxed in the final.”

Lal said India should not let the pressure get to them.

“On the day of the final, they should put their best foot forward and make sure that the pressure does not not get to them.”
