CBI officials said the two internet protocol (IP) addresses used for defacing the website originated from Pennsylvania and Daugavpils.

The CBI issued the letters last week after the agency moved a local court here for permission to access authorities in the US and Latvia for collecting information on the IP addresses.

The CBI Dec 4, 2010, registered a case against unidentified people of “Pakistani Cyber Army” for defacement of its website, and invoked various sections of the Information Technology Act to do so.

The attackers after defacing the website wrote on it that it was a work of “Pakistan Cyber Army”, said the official.
