Chennai : Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has termed as “very interesting” Australian legend Shane Warne’s reported willingness to coach the team following the exit of Gary Kirsten while pointing out that the former South African batsman had set a very high benchmark.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch function of the Chennai Super Kings team here Wednesday, Dhoni said: “Very interesting. Whoever comes in has very big shoes to fill. The benchmark has been set very very high.
“Now he has taken a break to be with his family. We will miss him, but he will miss us more. There was a strong bond between the players and Gary,” he said.
Earlier, the same question was put to Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming, who declined to comment beyond saying: “Interesting.”
