PDP president in a statement issued here said that barbaric murder of a 12th standard student was yet another instance of unaccounted loss of life in Kashmir. She said that killing of Sajjad was not an isolated incident but civilians were being killed unabatedly and the government was watching as a mute spectator.

PDP president said that only last week another youth was killed in similar circumstances in Ganderbal. “The government has failed to stop this bloodshed or bring to book the perpetrators of these crimes which have generated atmosphere of fear and insecurity throughout Kashmir Valley,” she said.

Mehbooba urged the state government to immediately find out the whereabouts of Suresh Raina, pandit boy missing from Chandre area of Aishmukam Ananatnag. She said, “While the government has created hype about the so-called summer unrest and remained obsessed with prevention to repeat it, the worst thing seem to be happening.

Sense of security and feeling of peace have been seriously compromised due to government’s poor governance and repressive measures,” the statement said.
