New Delhi : Peter Ramsauer, the German minister for transport and urban development, is on a three-day visit to India from Monday to explore business opportunities in automobile and other sectors.
Ramsauer, accompanied by a high-level business delegation, will meet Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel on the sidelines of the Indo-German Joint Working Group (JWG) on Automotive Sector.
The group focuses on intensifying Indo-German cooperation in the development of efficient automotive technologies and alternate fuels and drives.
“Germany is a world champion in logistics and a world leader in the construction of infrastructure, as well as in energy-efficient technologies in the transportation sector. We are keen to share these technologies with our partners in India,” said Ramsauer.
“I view India as an important partner for Germany and am looking forward to further strengthening our cooperation in all these fields during my visit,” he added.
Ramsauer will also meet Minister of Civil Aviation Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa.
Ramsauer will travel to Mumbai Wednesday, where he will deliver the Founders’ Day lecture, organised by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
