Jammu : Pilgrims going to the Vaishno Devi shrine, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir, can now book e-tickets for helicopter shuttle to the temple.
“Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has operationalised the online reservation system for availing heli-services on Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra sector,” a spokesman of the shrine board said here Friday.
The board has also reduced the one-way fare for chopper travel between Katra and Sanjichhat to Rs.699 per person from earlier rate of Rs.1,225.
“The passengers who wish to avail the helicopter services can log on to the shrine board’s website (www.maavaishnodevi.org.) and secure a confirmed e-ticket after making the required payment,” the spokeman said.
The tickets can also be booked online through the websites of the two operators Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd (www.pawanhans.co.in) and Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. (www.onlineglobalhelicorp.com).
More than eight million pilgrims visited the shrine last year. This year, the number has already crossed two million.
