Indian diaspora in Netherlands to hold first annual meet

The Hague : Representatives of the Indian diaspora organisations in the Netherlands will meet in The Hague Sep 25 for the first Dutch edition of the annual diaspora conference, EuAsiaNews reported.

The theme of the day-long meeting is “Indian Diaspora in Netherlands: Achievements, Contributions & Challenges”.

The conference aims to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen relations between various sections of the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands.

At least 400 participants, most of them representing various Indian diaspora organisations, are expected to participate in the conference, said Wahid Saleh, spokesperson of the conference.

The conference also aims to increase participation and visibility of the Indian diaspora in the Dutch social, cultural and political spectrum, besides broadening and deepening the ties with India in various fields.

It aims to work as a catalyst to further the cause of economic and cultural cooperation between India and the Netherlands.

The organisers previously conducted the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-Europe in 2009.
