Maulana Mirza Mohd. Athar felicitated for Limca Book entry

Lucknow: Maulana Mirza Mohd. Athar was felicitated by the Shia College Board of Trustees on Tuesday after his name appeared in Limca Book of Records for delivering large number of sermons in last 53 years at Mughal Masjid in Mumbai.
Manager of Shia PG College, SHS Moosavi, Manager of Shia Inter College, Prof. SM Sayed and Principal of Shia PG College, MS Naqvi were also present on the occasion.

Maulana Athar, who is President, All India Shia Personal Law Board, has been enlisted in Limca Book of Records 2011 for 530 majlis sermons which he delivered in last 51 years. He began delivering sermons at the mosque in 1960 when he was 22. The majlis sermons are based on the tragedy of Karbala and the sacrifice of Imam Husain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad who died along with 72 of his friends and relatives fighting to protect Islam.
