Python caught near Madhya Pradesh chief minister’s house

Bhopal : A 12-foot long python was captured Monday near the official residence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here, officials here said.

The python, which was about to swallow a cat at Doordarshan Kendra, a stone’s throw away from the chief minister’s residence, was noticed by Doordarshan officials, who informed a snake specialist.

“When I came here, I found that the python was trying to swallow the cat. So, first I released the cat from the python’s clutches, and then trapped the python,” snake specialist Mohammad Shahid said.

The python was later sent to Van Vihar National Park here.
