New Delhi : The CBI Wednesday questioned Anshuman Ruia, promoter-director of Essar Group, here over the allocation of 2G spectrum allocation case, an official said.
“Ruia came in the afternoon and was questioned for a few hours,” a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official said.
Anshuman is the brother of group CEO Prashant Ruia, who has been quizzed several times.
According to the CBI, Anshuman was asked about Essar’s connection with Loop Telecom, which got a unified access service licence for 21 circles in 2008. The CBI suspects Loop was a front for Essar.
The 2G case relates to alleged irregularities in the allotment of second generation spectrum to telecom companies that caused huge losses to the national exchequer.
