New Delhi : The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) authorities have caught nine boys illegally occupying rooms in various hostels, an official said Wednesday.
According to the university, out of the nine boys caught late Monday night, seven were students of Jamia who did not have permission to stay in hostels while two were outsiders.
“We had received reports that there were some unwanted elements illegally occupying hostel rooms in Jamia. So, the university visited the Hall of Boys’ Residence and caught the nine boys,” Jamia spokesperson said.
“Two were complete outsiders whose cases have been reported to police by the university,” the spokesperson added.
The university has also initiated necessary disciplinary proceedings against the seven Jamia students, the official said.
“The students have also been informed not to aid elements which seek to gain illegal entry into the university hostels,” said the spokesperson.
