New Delhi : A 20-year-old Pakistani national, staying in Delhi for the past two years while posing as an Afghan national, was arrested here Thursday, police said.
Niyamattullah alias Aftab, who came to India with his father in December 2009, on the pretext of doing a garment business, was arrested from west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on a tip-off.
He was carrying a fake passport issued from Kandahar, Afghanistan.
“Niyamattullah is a Pakistani national. He was arrested from his rented accommodation at Mahaveer Nagar in Tilak Nagar. A case under section 14 of the Foreigners Act has been registered against him,” said DCP (West) V.Renganathan.
The accused has been involved in drug peddling, police said. The father and son duo had even extended their business visa by several months, they said.
His father, Syed Ahmed, jailed in Tihar, was earlier arrested in 2010 with 52 kg of heroin.
