Patna: Almost entire country was peaceful on Monday when the nation was celebrating its 65th Independence Day. No incident of violence was reported from anywhere. This happened first time perhaps in last many years. From Delhi to Mumbai to Lucknow to Patna – Indian Tricolour (Tiranga) was flying high everywhere, sending a clear message the nation is one and united.

While Prime Minister hoisted the flag at the ramparts of the historic Red Fort in Delhi, children holding Tiranga were walking and running in the streets of Bhiwandi in Mumbai and Phulwari Shareef in Patna. a great feeling of nationhood had covered all distances and barriers and merged all colours into just three – saffron, white and green.

Along with government offices, private institutions, Muslim organizations and mohalla committees also hoisted Tiranga and sang the song of nationhood. In Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led the state by unfurling the flag in Gandhi Maidan where tableaus showing different cultures and customs were also taken out. About 10 km from Gandhi Maidan, the national flag was flying in the premises of Rahmani-30 coaching institute run by noted spiritual leader Maulana Muhammad Wali Rahmani. Under the flag at Rahmani-30 were standing a DGP, a cleric, a teacher and students and staff – all shoulder to shoulder with their lips chanting Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara.
