Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Babulal Gaur Saturday said that only the Narendra Modi-led government in Gujarat was free from corruption in India.
Speaking to reporters about Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said: “The agitation is taking place across India. So, no party could claim that there is no corruption in their state as all the parties have their governments in one or another state.”
“But I can say one thing that there is no corruption in Narendra Modi government,” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader quickly added.
When asked if that meant there was corruption in his government as well, the senior minister in Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s cabinet responded philosophically, “Dil ki baat sune dilwala…”
Reacting to Gaur’s statement, Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh of the Congress said: “I thank him for telling the truth at least at this juncture of his life.”
