Hazare supporters stage sit-in at Rajnath’s house

Ghaziabad : Responding to anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare’s call, Ghaziabad residents Sunday staged a sit-in at the house of area MP Rajnath Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking on the occasion, councillor Rajendra Tyagi said: “They have elected the former BJP president as the member of Lok Sabha from Ghaziabad. They have every right to know whether their MP supports the Jan Lokpal bill or not.”

The residents marched to the MP’s house in Rajnagar and staged a sit-in.

Earlier, hundreds of young boys and girls under took a march from Raj Nagar’s sector-10 to the MP’s residence in sector-1.

The protestors drove motorcycles, cars and autorickshaws on about a three-kilometre stretch.

Baldevraj Sharma, a representative of the MP, said: “Ghaziabad MP Rajnath Singh supports the Jan Lokpal bill and he has authorised him to issue a statement while he is on a visit to Karnataka.”
