Lucknow : Acting on Team Anna’s appeal, people in various parts of Uttar Pradesh Sunday evening held demonstrations in front of their respective MPs’ houses in favour of a strong anti-corruption Lokpal bill
Under the banner of India Against Corruption (IAC), people from various walks of life staged sit-ins in front of MPs’ houses in Lucknow, Unnao, Kanpur, Faizabad and Allahabad.
In Lucknow, people took out a march from Parivartan Chowk to the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Lucknow Lalji Tandon.
Shouting pro-Hazare slogans, the people asked Tandon to raise concerns over the government’s Lokpal Bill.
Similar protests were witnessed in front of the houses of Congress MP from Unnao Annu Tandon, Congress MP from Kanpur and Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal, Samajwadi Party MP from Allahabad Rewati Raman Singh and Congress MP from Faizabad Nirmal Khatri.
