Kolkata : A delegation of West Bengal’s Left Front Monday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and requested him to give a new look to central-state government relations in the country.
The delegation, led by Leader of Opposition Surya Kant Misha, met Manmohan Singh and submitted a memorandum highlighting an eight-point agenda of the Left.
“We have requested the prime minister to give a new thought to the issue of centre-state relations in the country. He has assured us that the matter will be discussed with a new approach,” said Subhas Naskar, deputy leader of opposition in the legislative assembly.
The memorandum also included demands relating to price rise, unemployment and lack of infrastructure.
