“As far as talks are concerned, the government has earlier also said… fact, the prime minister has himself said that he is ready for talks. But when it comes to making laws, it is the job of parliament and it is not wise to question its role,” Minister of State for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

“In a democracy, any person or organisation has full freedom to express his views but making laws is the work of parliament and if we question that, I do not think it is correct,” he added.

The minister also called for the society’s support in eradicating corruption.

Milind Deora, who too is the minister of state for communications and IT, said: “Anna has definitely done a lot of work for the people. Nobody likes to see him in pain… I understand people in India feel a sense of anguish and helplessness. We have to allow certain procedure to continue.”

Anna Hazare’s fast for a stringent Lokpal bill entered the eighth day Tuesday.
