Raipur : The Congress party Tuesday alleged that Chhattisgarh’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has been misusing, for years, the funds being provided by the central government for development works — mainly for the Maoist-hit areas.
“For the past seven years, the Chhattisgarh government has been misusing central government funds to the tune of millions of rupees provided for development of Maoist-hit areas,” Congress leader and former chief minister Ajit Jogi said in a statement here.
“State’s Maoists-hit areas continued to be deprived of development activities despite massive funds being made available by the central government. I seek a separate audit for central funds being spent in Chhattisgrah so that people should know the realities,” he added.
