New Delhi : Supporters of social activist Anna Hazare Friday protested outside Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s residence here for a strong anti-corruption bill.
“Annaji has appealed to people to hold peaceful protests outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence for passing the Jan Lokpal bill soon,” said a member of Team Anna who courted arrest.
The Jan Lokpal bill demands inclusion of the prime minister, the higher judiciary and the conduct of MPs in parliament under the purview of the Lokpal (ombudsman).
Hazare’s supporters marched to the 12, Tughlak Lane residence of Gandhi and shouted slogans in support of the 74-year-old leader whose fast continued for the 11th day Friday.
“We have put barricades near his (Rahul Gandhi’s) house,” said a police officer.
