“Personally, I am in favour of bringing the chief minister under Lokayukta. Necessary steps will be soon initiated to make Lokayukta strong in the state,” said Munda in the assembly while responding to the demand by an opposition legislator to bring the chief minister under the Lokayukta.

Munda noted that in the past, he had supported bringing the chief minister under the Lokayukta and was now reiterating his stand.

Pradeep Yadav, the legislative party leader of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P), raised the issue in the assembly Friday. He demanded that necessary amendments should be made in Jharkhand Lokayukta Act, 2001 to make the existing Lokayukta stronger.

The monsoon session of Jharkhand assembly began Friday. The Munda government is bringing in during the session the right to services act under which time-frame will be set for each government work.
