Dengue death toll rises to 23 in Orissa

Bhubaneswar : Two more people died of dengue Friday, taking the toll in the outbreak of the disease in Orissa to 23 this month, the state health department said.

Vivekananda and High-Tech hospitals here reported one death each, the department said in a statement.

The people who died belonged to the worst-hit Angul district which has so far reported 382 cases, it said.

A total 16 people tested positive Friday taking the total number of infected people in the state to 838.

Dengue has spread in 21 of the state’s 30 districts.
