The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) Friday said the power tariff has been increased by 21.77 percent. The new rate will be effective from Sep 1.

“The rate is still lower than Uttar Pradesh and Haryana,” Dikshit said.

Households will now pay Rs.3 per unit up to 200 units as compared to 245 units earlier.

The consumer will now have to shell out Rs.4.80 per unit of power for the next 200 units to 400 units. The existing rate is Rs 3.95 per unit.

Those consuming more than 400 units will be charged Rs.5.70 a unit instead of the current Rs.4.65.
