New Delhi: Anna Hazare will break his 12-day fast tomorrow morning as both Houses of Parliament this evening, after a daylong discussion, passed a unanimous resolution supporting the three major demands of the anti-corruption Gandhian campaigner.
“This House agrees in principle on following issues for an effective and strong Lokpal: 1) Citizen’s charter, 2) Lower bureaucracy under Lokpal through appropriate mechanism, 3) Establishment of Lokayukta in states,” reads the resolution first passed by Lok Sabha and then Rajya Sabha.
These were the three demands put by Hazare three days ago as a condition to break his fast. He wanted the Parliament at least discuss the major provisions of his Jan Lokpal Bill and pass a resolution in support of the three points.
The Lok Sabha has also decided to forward the proceedings of the House to the Standing Committee for its perusal while formulating its recommendations for a Lokpal Bill.
