Zardari asks traders to help overcome economic crisis

Islamabad : Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the business community to suggest ways for overcoming the country’s economic crisis.

Zardari Friday told a delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) that the business community should help the government restore confidence of the people in the strength and vitality of the national economy.

The president thanked the business community for supporting the government at a time when it was undertaking a military operation against militants, besides coping with natural calamities, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

The Economic Survey 2010-11 says Pakistan’s war on terror has cost the country around $68 billion or Rs.5,037 billion, while floods since 2010 have cost $43 billion.
